Darrenwood is a small suburb that falls under the Randburg Municipality in Johannesburg. The suburb consists of numerous small houses and apartments and dates back to the 1960s. Here you will find the Darrenwood Sports Centre and the Darrenwood Dam. Just to the South of Darrenwood are the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens and the Emmarentia Dam and Sailing Club. The nearest large shopping centre to Darrenwood is the Cresta Shopping Centre, which is situated just a few blocks away to the West. The suburb is very close to numerous sports clubs and bowling clubs, and just a couple of blocks away is the bird sanctuary at Victory Park, and to the South the Alberts Farm Sanctuary. Darrenwood is just three minutes drive away from the N1 Highway. There are a number of good schools in the vicinity of Darrenwood including some excellent private schools.
