Derdepoort
Derdepoort is a beautiful and tranquil suburb in Gauteng which is away from the city life and is mostly made up of farms and small holdings.

Derdepoort is conveniently close to many guest farms and spas where you will get to enjoy the completely tranquil beauty of this area. Not far from Derdepoort is the Pioneer Museum in Silverton which was established in 1846 and is now a beautifully refurbished farm home where you can experience life as it was in those days by trying your hand at candle making, bread baking, coffee roasting and grinding wheat. The experience is well worth the visit for the whole family. Another stop which should not be missed while on holiday in Derdepoort, is the Union Building which is one of South Africas most recognised historical buildings. It is not only a beautiful sandstone building but known to symblise the unity of the two cultures in the country since the Anglo Boer War. The Union Building is not open to the public but admired by many visitors from the beautiful gardens that surround it.

Climate:
Derdepoort is in Gauteng and enjoys warm to hot summer days with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms. The winter months enjoy cool days with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
