Edgemead, at the foot of the Tygerberg Hills in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, is part of the Belville municipality and only about 20 km from the City Bowl. Edgemead has easy access to the N1, making it perfect for quick overnight stays, and close to Cape Town International Airport. It is only 10 km from Canal Walk - the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere - and Bloubergstrand with its wonderful beaches and views over Table Mountain and Robben Island is only about 15 minutes' drive.

The residential suburb of Edgemead is also on the doorstep of the Durbanville Wine Route. One of South Africa's top three wine districts, it is close to Cape Town and one can explore the area within a day quite comfortably. The area boasts picture-postcard views of Table Mountain and has grown to include nine wineries, each offering the finest in wines. The Durbanville wine making area dates back to 1698 and many of the farms have been in the same families for generations.
