Elysium Overview Information Elysium is a small holiday retreat situated about seventy kilometers to the south of Durban. The village is nestled in between Ifafa and Mtwalume beaches and comprises residential and holiday homes. Here the visitor can walk through the thick south coast sea-edge bush and relax on miles of beautiful beach. This is a good resort for fishing, especially while the sardine run is in progress, and you can expect to get your first bite within half an hour. Just a few kilometers to the north of Elysium and just off the road to Ixopo lies the Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve. This 2200 hectare nature reserve comprises upland grassland and three densely wooded valleys.
