Griekwastad is a small suburb in the Northern Cape Province which was estbablished in the 1800's.

Attractions:
Not far from Griekwastad is the Vaalbos National Park which lies along the Vaal River. Here you will enjoy the outdoors and get to see a variety of wildlife such as different species of buck and also buffalo and a variety of aquatic birds. While in Griekwastad you can also visit the Kimberly Big Hole which is an open mine pit and known to be the largest man-made hole which is famous for the discovery of diamonds. Also in Kimberley is the Flamingo Casino that has many slot machines to try your luck on and several betting tables and is open 7 days a week.
