Hazyview Overview Information

Situated on the banks of the picturesque Sabie River, Hazyview is the most convenient jumping off point for many private game reserves and all points in the Kruger National Park, being just 16 km from Numbi Gate and 12 km from the new Phabeni gate. Hazyview is also an excellent stepping off point for many of Mpumalanga's points of interest, the Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrim's Rest, Bourke's Luck Potholes and others.

Visitors to Hazyview can view a wide variety of fruit farms in the area - there are widespread banana plantations as well as a great number of tropical and semi-tropical fruit including litchis, mangoes, coffee and all varieties of citrus. Activities in and around Hazyview include horse trails, hiking and hot-air ballooning in and over the colourful Mpumalanga countryside.

Hazyview was recognized as a village in 1959 when, having become an important trading post for the nearby farming communities, it was granted its post office and railway station. Hazyview gets its name from the heavy haze that dominates the Eastern Lowveld in summertime. The beautiful village of Hazyview has plenty of accommodation to offer, ranging from luxury lodges and hotels down to accommodation for the humble back-packer.
