Hibberdene is a popular coastal resort about 25 kms north of Port Shepstone. The village has five swimming beaches and there is some good scuba diving on the reef, which starts near to the railway bridge and continues for 4 kms to the old airport. Other attractions in the village include bowling, tennis, and squash.

Hibberdene is famous for the Sardine Run, which starts in late June or July. Its beaches are reputed to be good for shad fishing. An annual beerfest  at the Leisure Resort takes place in October and a there is also a Summer Festival in Hibberdene in December on the main beach. There is a caravan park in the village and ample accommodation.

There are a total of five swimming beaches at Hibberdene, and a 4km long reef which provides visitors with some good scuba diving. Other activities  include boating in the lagoon.

The Emithini and Mzamba Village sell authentic Zulu art and handmade craftwork such as  jewelery and leather work, and don't miss the  traditional Zulu dancing.
