The De Wildt Cheetah and Wild Dog Sanctuary is nearby to Kameeldrift West and is a great outing for the whole family. It has been running successfully for a number of years. There are guided tours full of information. The open vehicle trail is an exciting and unique adventure. You wont be disappointed. The Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre is also in the area and offers guided tours from family tours to private tours, also a 3 hour guided tour. There are many other animals other than the Cheetah, wild dogs and vultures are among the many you will see and learn about, to mention only a few. Both the Cheetah Sanctuary and Centre are a great way to get up close and see these magnificent creatures. There are many other attractions in the area such as the National Zoological Gardens, Wonderboom Nature Reserve and many interesting museums too.

Kameeldrift West is situated in Gauteng which enjoys warm to hot summer months with most rainfall as thunderstorms which are often accompanied by hail. The winter months are sunny but cool with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
