The Johannesburg suburb of Parkmore is situated on either side of Sandton Drive and is just a stone's throw from Sandton City shopping centre. This suburb is one of long narrow parallel streets, all of which have been either fenced off or have booms for added security. The suburb is served by the shopping centre at Benmore Gardens and has its own row of shops along 11th Street. The Sandton Sports Club in George Lea Park is alongside the Parkmore on the corner of Sandton Drive and William Nicol Drive.

Parkmore is one of those older suburbs of Johannesburg built in the early 20th Century. Johannesburg's new business district with its many office parks and high rise office blocks at Sandton is right next door to this charming small suburb. The suburb is very handy for the Tara Rehabilitation Centre. Although lacking its own school, there are plenty of schools in the surrounding suburbs.
