Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve
Formerly known as "Pienaars Rivier Dam" since 1956, Roodeplaat Dam is a beautiful holiday destination in Gauteng.

Attractions:
Roodeplaat Dam is full of activities for the whole family from waterskiing, canoeing and many more watersports, to relaxing on the waters edge or fishing for fresh water bass. The Dam is home to a variety of wild life such as zebra, impala, warthog and many different bird species. Another enjoyable day out for the whole family is a trip to the Carousel Casino which has a large selection of slot machines and betting tables. The Carousel Casino also hosts many concerts, shows and live entertainment. There is also a sports arena where many contests have been held such as power lifting and boxing. There are cinemas where you can relax and enjoy a good movie or an indoor adventure park for the children to enjoy too. The Tswaing Meteorite Crater Museum is an interesting day out for the family where you will see one of the best preserved meteorite impact craters in the world.

Roodeplaat enjoys a moderate climate with warm to hot summer months with most rainfall as thunderstorms and cool to very cold winter months.
