Sandhurst is a suburb of large properties situated just a few blocks from Johannesburg's new central business district of Sandton. All entrances to Sandhurst are controlled by traffic booms, and there is a high degree of security here. Sandhurst houses both the Chinese and the Spanish Consulates. The Tara rehabilitation Centre and the Sandhurst Eye Centre are found in the west of Sandhurst close to William Nicol Drive.

Sandhurst is situated right next door to Sandton City shopping mall and just a couple of blocks from Sandton Square and the Sandton Convention Centre. Sandton Sports Club is in the George Lea Park also alongside Sandhurst. Sandhurst is very close to the Inanda Club, famous in South Africa for its equestrian ties, and is within walking distance of the Wanderers Cricket Club. Visitors to Sandhurst will be staying in a suburb with pleasant, tree lined streets and large houses.
