Storms River / Tsitsikamma Overview Information Popular with tourists and hikers alike, the Storms River/Tsitsikamma area is situated in the heart of the Garden Route and lies between the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the sea. Often described as a wonderland because of its beauty, visitors are spellbound by rolling seas, sheer cliffs and forest and fynbos vegetation. The Paul Sauer suspension bridge across Storms River Mouth is an exciting thrill with the pounding surf below your feet. The Storms River is also popular for white-water rafting. The famous indigenous forests of Tsitsikamma are home to the giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees - some older than 1,000 years. A photographer's paradise, most of this rich forest wonderland is part of two national parks - the Tsitsikamma Coastal National park and the Tsitsikamma Forest National Park. The coastal park stretches across some 75km of coast line from Nature's Valley and visitors from all over the world come to the region known for its rugged coastline hikes, including the Otter Trail.
