The small town of Stutterheim lies at the foot of the Kologha Mountains, an outcrop of the Amatola range. The magnificent beauty of its surroundings is full of forests, mountains, rivers and waterfalls.

Near to Stutterheim is the Gubu Dam, reached by a magnificent forest drive. The crystal clear water of the Gubu Dam is full of brown trout. The dam is surrounded with easy day walks.
