Welgemoed, just north of Cape Town, is a suburb of Bellville about 20 km outside of the city centre, on the N1 towards Stellenbosch and Paarl. Welgemoed lies in the Tygerberg hills with gorgeous views over the Stellenbosch Mountains and offers quick access to the winelands, the beaches of Cape Town and Welgemoed has its own golf course for keen golfers.

Welgemoed is home to the 278 ha Tygerberg Nature Reserve that offers some incredible views of the entire peninsula on its 7.5 km hike. The Durbanville Wine Route, with nine estates of top-quality wines, is within easy reach of Welgemoed and can be explored within a day. The views from this area are spectacular - looking onto Table Mountain from various aspects. Sanlam's Art Gallery, in Bellville, offers one of the largest corporate collections of South African art and is worth a visit. Tygerberg Valley shopping centre is a large retail mall and offers hours of exciting shopping and entertainment.
