The White Mountain area is situated in the central Drakensberg foothills and is about thirty kilometres to the southwest of Estcourt in KwaZulu-Natal. This is a peaceful and picturesque valley with a backdrop of the mountain that sits just outside the Giant's Castle Nature Reserve.

There is excellent accommodation at White Mountain as well as a large number of outdoor activities to keep the visitor occupied. The area is renowned for its fishing, hiking and white-water rafting, and also offers abseiling and rock-climbing. Accommodation in the area ranges from full board to self -catering cottages, all of which are very comfortable. This is an ideal area for forays into the Drakensberg peaks and with the backdrop of Giant's Castle this has to be one of the most picturesque areas of South Africa.
