Williston Overview Information
Williston
Williston is a typical karoo suburb in the Northern Cape Province which was founded in 1845. Williston was formerly known as Amandelboom but was changed in 1883 to honour a British Cape Colonel Secretary. It is now more commonly better known for its sheep farming.

Attractions:
The Northern Cape has a fascinating history of San Rock engravings and not far from Williston you will be able to enjoy a rafting tour on the Orange River which is very exciting and not to be missed. During the months of spring this semi desert offers a beautiful array of wild flowers.

Climate:
The Northern Cape enjoys warm winter days with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings. Most rainfall is during the winter months. Summer months in the semi desert are hot to very hot and dry.
