Willow Acres Overview Information
Willow Acres is a suburb of new upmarket houses situated in a golfing estate some twenty kilometres to the east of central Pretoria. The estate is situated close to the junction of the N4 and Hans Strijdom (M10) and adjoins the Silver Lakes Golf Estate. This is a secure suburb in beautiful surroundings. The suburb has its own on-ramps to the N4 making it an ideal jumping off spot for all points East. This is the outskirt of Pretoria before hitting the open bushveldt. The estate has its own shopping centre at the Trade Centre, and there are several other shopping centres and a large shopping mall nearby.

Pretoria itself was founded in 1855 by Marthinus Pretorius, a leader of the Voortrekkers, who named it after his father Andries Pretorius. During the First Boer War, the city was besieged by Republican forces in December 1880 and March 1881. The peace treaty, which ended the was, was signed in Pretoria on 3 August 1881 at the Pretoria Convention. Pretoria achieved official city status in 1931.
