Only an hour\'s drive from Cape Town, the town of Worcester lies in the Breede River Valley, surrounded by the majestic Brandwacht, Overhex and Langeberg mountains in one of the largest winegrowing areas in terms of volume and area. Worcester produces close to 25% of South Africa\'s total volume of wine and spirits and is also the most important brandy producing area, home to the KWV Brandy Cellar.

Worcester lies in a particularly scenic district. It graces the bulk of the Breede River Valley and the Nuy Valley and extends as far as the Hex River Valley. The town of Worcester is the largest in the Breede Valley and one of the prettiest to visit. The streets are lined with gardens full of roses and fruit and fir, blue gum and poplar trees. The historical buildings form part of architectural works through town. The local Karoo National Botanical Gardens is a garden set in 144 Ha of natural, semi-desert vegetation with 10 Ha of landscaped garden.
